SHANNON PLUMB: STANDARD PROJECTION

Press Release

24/7 PROJECTION WITH SHANNON PLUMB AT THE STANDARD, HOLLYWOOD

In collaboration with Art Production Fund, projections of artist Shannon Plumb’s work will be displayed at The Standard, Hollywood 24/7 through the month of August.

Looped low-fi DVD projections of color and sound of Plumb’s Roller Coaster (2001), Olympics Track and Field (2005), Rattles and Cherries (2004), Lunch Break (2009), and Shampoo (2001) will provide a look into the artist’s cinematic studies.

Plumb’s projections, inspired by the slapstick comedy and physical humor of silent film legends Buster Keaton and Charlie Chaplin, explore the complexities of the ordinary and the extraordinary as she takes on various personas from the silver screen.
