PROJECTION: 24/7 WITH FLATFORM AT THE STANDARD, HOLLYWOOD
The Standard, Hollywood in collaboration with Art Production Fund present the latest Projection: 24/7 installation by artist collective, Flatform. Flatform’s work will remain on view from mid-January through May 2015.
Flatform’s installation features three video compilations, Movements of an impossible time, Cannot be anything against the windand A place to come. Flatform’s work explores the relationship between time and space. Its narrative structure references landscapes and various atmospheric agents to depict the metamorphosis from matter to space through time.
Flatform’s installation will be on display as part of Art Production Fund’s Projection: 24/7 series shown in the lobby and in-room at The Standard, Hollywood. The Standard, Hollywood, in particular, embraces artists through continued art installations. In past months, The Standard, Hollywood has featured Projection: 24/7 artists Casey Legler, Shannon Plum, C.T. Jasper, Taxiplasm and more.
ABOUT FLATFORM
Flatform was established in 2006 and is currently based in Milan and Berlin. Flatform works specialize in video and time based installations. Flatform also creates sculptural works starting from its own videoworks and translating time and narrative into space and matter. Works by Flatform have been shown in many museums and institution including: Hirshhorn Museum, Washington DC; Wexner Center for the Arts, Columbus Ohio; Centre Pompidou, Paris, France; Hong-Gah Museum, Taiwan; MSU Museum of Contemporary Art, Zagreb, Croatia; Kulturhuset in Stockholm, Sweden among others. Videoworks by Flatform have been featured in a slew of international film festival such as: 2009-14 International Film Festival Rotterdam (Tiger Awards Short Film Competition), The Netherlands; 2014 Toronto International Film Festival; 2010-11 Venice International Film Festival, 2009-11 Kurzfilmtage, Oberhausen, Germany; 2010-14 Nouveau Cinema Montreal, Canada; 2014 Jerusalem International Film Festival, Israel and more. Flatform has also been awarded at the 2008 Screen Festival in Oslo, Norway; 2009 25 FPS Festival in Zagreb, Croatia; 2010 Lago Film Festival in Revine Lago, Italy; 2011 Festival International du Court-Metrage in Lille, France.
