Press Release
“Someone I Love” An Art Sundae Installtion By Hiba Schahbaz
On February 3 Hiba Schahbaz led children through a digital Art Sundae workshop where participants created watercolor portraits of someone they love. Following the workshop, children submitted their portraits to be incorporated into a public installation with Schahbaz’s own work. “Someone I Love” is on view now at 10 Rockefeller Plaza through May 1st.
As part of the 2021 Art in Focus program, the installation is a collaboration between the artist and children from around the world. Someone I Love is presented by Rockefeller Center in partnership with the non-profit Art Production Fund.
ART SUNDAE is an ongoing public program launched by non-profit Art Production Fund and New York gallery Fort Gansevoort that is designed to build confidence in children through art-making. This free program offers children the opportunity to work with a contemporary artist to create a public art project. The program is designed to be accessible to all and highlight art’s positive impact across all communities.
ART IN FOCUS is a multidisciplinary program that showcases installations by contemporary artists inspired by the New York City landscape and contemporary life.
