BASIL KINCAID ART SUNDAE WORKSHOP

Press Release

Art Production Fund, Basil Kincaid, and Rockefeller Center collaborated to organize an Art Sundae Children's Workshop on Monday, 07/31, at Flipper's Roller Boogie Palace.

Following the workshop, Flipper's Roller Boogie Palace offered all Art Sundae participants a free hour of roller skating. Inspired by Kincaid's recent Art In Focus exhibition at Rockefeller Center, participants were invited to work with the artist to create a public art installation at 10 Rockefeller. Children of all ages received a pair of used shoes or skates to repurpose as flower pots. They worked with popsicle sticks, pipe cleaners, and colorful tissue paper to craft floral arrangements.

This display will be available for the public to view through September 10th, 2023.

Art Sundae is an ongoing public program launched by non-profit Art Production Fund and New York gallery Fort Gansevoort that is designed to build confidence in children through art-making. This free program allows children to work with a contemporary artist to create a public art project. The program is designed to be accessible to all and highlight art's positive impact across all communities.
